The Charlatans is an English rock band that formed in 1988. The line up consists of Tim Burgees on vocals, Mark Collins on guitar, Martin Blunt on the bass, Jon Brookes on the drums and Tony Rogers keyboardist. The band was formed in West Midlands, England and recorded their earliest demos in Birmingham and Dudley in 1988. The Charlatans first debut single was titled ‘Indian Rope’ which landed them a deal with record label Beggars Banquet. They then released ‘The Only One I Know’ which made the Top 10 on the UK Singles chart. In 1991, the band played their first big concert at the Royal Albert Hall and shortly after, original guitarist Baker left the group and they released ‘Between 10th and 11th’ in the same year. The band faced a few hardships from 1991 to 1994 and released their third album, ‘Up To Our Hips’ in 1994, followed by ‘The Charlatans’ in 1995 and ‘Tellin’ Stories’ in 1996. The Charlatans moved over to Universal Records and released their 1999 album ‘Us and Us Only’, followed by Wonderland’ in 2001, ‘Up at the Lake’ in 2004, ‘Simpatico’ in 2006, ‘You Cross My Path’ in 2008 and ‘Who We Touch’ in 2010. In 2013, drummer Jon Brookes passed and the band did not make music until 2015. The band then released ‘Modern Nature’ in 2015 and ‘Different Days’ in 2017.
