The Dillinger Escape Plan Bio

The Dillinger Escape Plan is an uncompromising progressive metalcore band from New Jersey, famous for playing in a screamo-punk style with mathcore instrumentals. The band is rumored to be on hiatus right now, but they have far too much fan following for that to last long. The line-up is Greg Puciato (lead vocals), Ben Weinman (lead guitar, programming, backing vocals), Kevin Antreassian (rhythm guitar), Liam Wilson (bass), and Billy Rymer (drums, percussion).

The Dillinger Escape Plan has won an AIM award for “Outstanding Contribution to Music,” and has charted decently albums-wise, at least, which is still good for a niche genre with a cult following. They were frequent collaborators with Mike Patton, lead man for the bands Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, and Tomahawk. They’re often mentioned in the same shelf with The Mars Volta, Between the Buried and Me, Meshuggah, Opeth, and other “geek rock” acts, being as intellectual as they are loud. Whether Dillinger Escape Plan goes on with Patton as a new front man or the members join other supergroups, the band members will always have a stage.
