The Good, the Bad & the Queen Bio

The Good, the Bad & the Queen was an alternative rock and psychedelic folk band founded in West End, London in 2005. The band's members had previously worked in notorious bands, including Albarn, who is Blur’s singer and co-creator of Gorillaz, Simonon, best known for being the bassist of The Clash, Tong, the guitarist of The Verve and Allen, drummer of Fela Kuti. They released their self-titled debut album in 2007, which incorporates rock art, alternative rock, and lo-fi styles. Their second studio album was “Merrie Land”, which was released the following year. It had folk music, synth-pop, and alternative rock influences. Their first album was the winner of The Observer Award and the Mojo Award in 2007 for Best Album of the Year and the album “Merrie Land” was awarded by The Sunday Times also as Album of the Year. In 2018, they began their “Merrie Land Tour” which took them all over Europe. Albarn announced the dissolution of the project in 2019.
