The Unthanks Bio
The Unthanks are an English folk group known for combining various folk genres with traditional Northumbrian folk. They are made up of sisters Rachel and Rebecca Unthank on vocals, Rachel’s husband Adrian McNally on piano, Niopha Keegan on fiddle, and Chris Rice on guitar. After changing their name from Rachel Unthank and the Winterset in 2009, they released their debut album Here’s the Tender Coming. It was named one of 2009’s best releases by MOJO, The Guardian, and Uncut. Their next studio album Last was released in 2011, followed by a three disc set of live recordings entitled Diversions Vol. 1,2&3. In 2015 they released their third studio album Mount the Air.
