Sir Anthony Robinson, better known as Tony Robinson, is an English actor, comedian, broadcaster, and author best known for his work in film and television. He was born in London, England, on August 15, 1946. Tony Robinson began his acting career in theatre at the age of thirteen when he performed the musical Oliver with Fagin’s Gang, and he made his TV debut in 1961 when he appeared in the TV movie The Man from the Moors. Tony is best known for starring in the BBC comedy series Maid Marian and Her Merry Men alongside Kate Lonergan, Adam Morris, Danny John-Jules, and Howard Lew Lewis, and he has also been a regular on the TV series Man Down, My Wonderful Life, Jackanory, Teenage Health Freak, Nellie the Elephant, and Who Dares Wins. His filmography includes The Windsors: From George to Kate, The Neverending Story III: Escape From Fantasia, and Mrs. Caldicot's Cabbage War.
