Vitalic is the stage name of French EDM producer Pascal Arbez, who got his start in the underground scene in the 1990s, back when electronic music was partly the domain of hacker / demo culture. Vitalic is a computer programmer as well, and was inspired into his career by artists such as Daft Punk. His first mainstream EP demo release was in 2001, to the label International Deejay Gigolo.
Vitalic blends elements of pop, techno, disco, and electroclash into his musical themes. His debut full album was in 2005, with “OK Cowboy,” which was certified selling gold at over 75K sales in Europe alone. His second album was titled “FlashMob,” a term from classic science fiction which has penetrated modern slang. As you might guess by now, Vitalic is very influenced by old-school aesthetics, and as a late-bloomer to the party, shows a confident and mature hand much-needed in the neophile EDM scene.
