Wesley Joel Matthews Jr. (born October 14, 1986) is a retired American professional basketball player who last played for the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). He was a Marquette Golden Eagles basketball player in college. He is the son of Wes Matthews, a former NBA player.
The Utah Jazz selected Matthews in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft. Before joining the Portland Trail Blazers, he played for the Sacramento Kings and the Orlando Summer League. In July 2015, Matthews agreed to terms with the Dallas Mavericks on a four-year, $70 million contract.
