Yalitza Aparicio Martnez (Spanish pronunciation: [alitsa apaisjo]; born December 11, 1993) is a Mexican actress and preschool teacher.
She made her cinematic debut as Cleo in Alfonso Cuarón's 2018 drama Roma, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In 2019, Time magazine named her one of the world's 100 most important people.
She was awarded UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Indigenous Peoples on October 4, 2019.
