Born in May 3, 1981, Father John Misty or legally known as Joshua Tillman came from Rockville, Maryland. His music genre revolves in indie rock, indie folk, and folk rock. Tillman started his music acts when he became a drummer for indie rock bands Saxon Shore and Stately. He wrote music during his spare time, with influences from Nick Drake, Pete Seeger, and Flannery O’Connor.
Tillman’s first studio album was released in 2006 under Fargo Records. It was entitled “Minor Works.” Soon, Keep Records reissued his early CD-R “I Will Return” and “Long May You Run” as a set distribution. Under Yer Bird Records, Tillman’s fourth album “Cancer and Delirium” was released. In 2008, Tillman joined Fleet Foxes. In 2012, he adopted the moniker Father John Misty for the album “Fear Run.”
