Aly & AJ Bio
Aly & AJ, also known as 78violet, is an American female pop duo. The group consists of two sisters, Alyson Renae Michalka, Aly, and Amanda Joy Michalka, AJ, who were born in Torrance, California, United States, on March 25, 1989 and April 10, 1991 respectively. Both Aly and AJ play the electric guitar and provide vocals to their music. The duo began releasing music in the early 2000’s, and in 2005, they released their debut album Into the Rush. Their hit song Potential Breakup Song peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The duo has won awards at the Radio Disney Music Awards for Best Group and Best TV Movie Song. Other hits of the sister duo include Slow Dancing, Like Whoa, and Hold Out.
