Colbert Michael Hamels, better known as Cole Hamels, is an American professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher in Major League Baseball. He was born in San Diego, California, United States, on December 27, 1983. Cole debuted in Major League Baseball in 2006 when he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, and he went on to represent the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Atlanta Braves. Throughout his time with the Philadelphia Phillies, Cole played alongside Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jonathan Papelbon, and Carlos Ruiz. His career highlights include winning the 2008 World Series, being named World Series MVP, and being included in four All-Star teams.
