Tommy Wiseau Bio

Piotr Wieczorkiewicz (popularly known online by the moniker Tommy Wiseau) is an American filmmaker, producer, director, and actor who was born on October 3rd, 1955 in Poznan, Poland. He is Polish but later emigrated to the United States and was naturalized as a citizen on May 28, 1985, in San Francisco, CA. Tommy trained to be an actor at the American Conservatory Theater, Vince Chase Workshop, Jean Shelton Acting Lab, Laney College and Stella Adler Academy of Acting. Tommy wrote, produced, directed, and starred in The Room. The movie received the 2003 Audience Award at the New York International Film Festival. He released the documentary Homeless in America in 2004 which went on to receive the 2004 Social Award. He also created the 2015 hit sitcom, The Neighbors. He famously got the funding for his movie The Room in 2003 by importing and selling leather jackets from South Korea. His other movies include The House That Drips Blood on Alex (2010), Bump (2011), Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance (2015), Cold Moon (2016), The Disaster Artist (2017) and Best Friends (2018).
