Dermot Kennedy Bio
Dermot Kennedy is an Irish singer and songwriter born in Tallaght, Dublin on December 13, 1991. At 10 years old he started playing the guitar and at 14 started writing songs. He started performing at open mic nights in Dublin, Ireland at 17 years old. After college he busked in Dublin, Ireland and Boston, Massachusetts. He won first place in The South Country Song Contest and started developing a following online. He started releasing his work on Spotify and his songs have been streamed over 300 million times. In 2017 he released his debut EP titled Doves & Ravens. He followed it up in 2018 with the EP Mike Dean Presents: Dermot Kennedy. In 2018 he toured around Europe, Australia, and the United States and has played at Festivals like SXSW Film Festival, Bonnaroo Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He released his debut full-length studio album in 2019 titled Dermot Kennedy.
